I received one of these for Christmas two years ago and I love it! I had the same question and the installer at Best Buy, where it was purchased, said they will remove and re-install the remote starter into another vehicle for you at no charge if it was originally purchased and installed from Best Buy. I don't know if that is still the case or if that is a policy at all Best Buys but that is what I was told.

It should be installed carefully with future removal in mind, and it should be removed by an expert, preferably the guy who installed it. Otherwise you could mess up the car taking it out, and have a real problem trying to sell it.
Anyway, what's the point of remote starting? It'll save you all of five seconds unless your plan is to start the car to warm it up. You shouldn't do that - modern cars are designed to "get in and drive" -- read your owner's manual. Cold idling wears the engine, wastes fuel, makes annoying noise and smog.
