Trying to get a wedding registry going, and I have no idea as to quality between these. Currently working on a Macy’s registry – felt they had a nice variety of things.
We both live out on our own and have a hodgepodge of things, but we would like to register for some things that are nicer than our college/grad school accumulations and get a more complete set of things we’ll need for our lives together after the wedding and graduations.
Any tips for the rest of the registry would be great too. Thanks!

Try Pampered Chef for great kitchen stuff. They make really nice things and your friends can call any consultant and order.
I like KitchenAide things. I have a barrage of things from them, although their most famous item, I have yet to buy. (KitchenAide Mixer) My mother has had a set of Cuisinart pans for a looong time (she doesn’t cook very often anymore however). My personal favorite place to get kitchen stuff is Williams Sonoma (expensive stuff). I used to looove pampered chef, however they are outrageous in price.
I would go with Kitchen Aide for mixer or blender, personally, because it is the residential version of, Hobart. I am a professional Chef. I use Hobart equipment all day every day, at home I have nothing but Kitchen Aide. As far as pot’s and pan;s, I just bought the new set that Emeril signatures which I believe is his own, absolutely wonderful. Knives, no question, go with Henkel’s, I have used the same set I bought while in Germany, 25 years ago. I just bought a Vita Mix, which I thought I would not like, but it is great for making smoothie, and other fruit or veggie juices. ( you can not get these babies in Macy’s though, only on-line, and they are expensive, but are great machines to have)

I vote for KitchenAide. Nice heavy strong stuff. Their mixer, with a dough blade for a minimum is really nice.
For pots and pans, I personally like Le Creuset. They are heavy, which I like, but my wife prefers something lighter.
Finally, get some nice knives. I like Henckel pro myself, but you really need to go to a cooking store and try them, see which feels best. There are different lines of Henckel’s, so see which you like.
You don’t need a lot. I just have two. I have a 12″ chef’s knife and an 8″ paring knife.
Definately a Kitchen-Aide stand mixer (although pricey) this has become a heirloom in our family, although I have four older sisters and one of them has the one my mother owned. These are great machies, last forever and has a whole slew of different attachements for them (pasta maker, grinder, slicer, juicer, sausage stuffer, even ice cream maker) and they add new stuff every once in a while. Mak sure you include some of the accessory attachments to youn list.
For Pans, Calphalon has been great and durable set for me.
Also some vairous Cast Iron pans as well (these both offer a wide range of prices, so everyone would be able to afford something in these items) .
Another investment item would be some quality knives…
My personal favorite ones are Wustoff Grand Prix, I have also some Henkel five star knives, but have been buying Wustoff’s lately to add to my collection. This is great for registry lists, as someone wouldn’t have to buy a whoe set, they can afford to buy just one peice.
I would also suggest registering at placeslike Bed, Bath and Beyond as they carry a lot of these items, and a much lower price than a major department store.
These cover the basics, I guess it would all depend on how muc you like to cook, as o what else you might need. Hope this helps.

Personally, for hand tools (spatulas and etc.) I prefer the OXO silicon ones. They have very high temp resistance and clean easily, they also don’t wear out as much. The company was founded by a man that had to redesign tools for his wife when she had either hand surgery or arthritis problems. They are comfy and ergonomic as well as very durable. I have never had to replace any of my OXO items and most are about 5 years or more old.
As for cookwear – I still prefer pyrex for glass and LOVE my calphone anodized set with the shatter proof lids and silicon coated handles. They can be used in the oven or stove – great for frittas. The only draw back is that they must be hand washed (the pans) I do run the lids threw the dishwasher occassionally.
Oxo good grips tools are very good to use in the kitchen. I personally use Cuisinart stainless steel pans in my kitchen and they work just as well as All-Clad at about half the price. I was so amazed how easy they are to clean and even stuck on foods come off within minutes. (No more soaking pans for hours.) I do have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer that I use but if you aren’t someone who bakes a lot then a hand mixer will do just fine. Make sure to invest in a few good knives. Don’t go for the knife sets because inevitably there will be knives in the set you won’t use. Get a good chef’s knife, pairing knife, bread knife, tomato or cheese knife, and a really good set of steak knives. The rest you can add later. Also register for a set of casserole dishes, cookie sheets, loaf pans, a tube/bundt cake pan, and a few 8 or 9 inch cake pans.
