I would like to get one of the free anti virus and spyware programs. There are so many and I just would like to know which ones are good and which ones I should avoid. I do want to be sure that whichever I get will remove malware (I don’t know if they all do that or not). Any and all info would be great, as would personal experience and use. Thanks so much.

I warn you not to ever use anti virus at all. The anti virus is the virus itself.it runs non stop in the back ground and causes ur system to wack out randomly or when you try to install random programs because of some weird programing conflicts.
The best way to avoid Hard Drive and Operating System virus problems is to go to ur local electronic store and purchase a external or internal secondary hard drive and save everything to it from every download or install. keeping your primary hard drive clean will result in no viruses and or crap outs.
THis is what I do and I downland gigs of movies and music everyday. I built my comp myself and have in the last cpl months filled up to 500gig drives with not one malfunction or virus Using no virus protection.
