I am not sure you will like this one, but…how about a peg board..not sure if you have room or not, but a painted peg board screwed to the wall will hold baking pans, gadgets, and gismos alike. If you have any amount of wall space, you can do this. That’s all I got right now.
I have the same problem where I don’t have too much stuff, I just have too little shelves! A few things that worked for me…
#1. Right off of my kitchen is my entry way closet with overhead shelving. I went and bought a bunch of storage containers (plastic, easy to clean) to put all my baking supplies in-each container holds a different job, or set of jobs. It’s easy so now I know, when I do frosting I know everything I need is going to be in one container.
#2. I have a metal bar mounted half an inch away from the wall that holds all of my metal tools. It gives me the professional feeling even though I am in an apartment.
#3. Metal shelves. you can buy a shelf for under a hundred dollars, and with the metal shelves you can even hang stuff off of it (with “S” hooks found at the hardware store). Gives you a ton of storage. The only downside is cleaning and appearance. They tend to get dusty pretty quick and it can make your dining area look unorganized. you can buy some that are 4 feet tall that wont give you the strong appearance of clutter, and just put them side by side, leaving the top open to double as a buffet line if you have company over.
#4. Dress up the idea of being a cake decorator. If you do go for the metal shelves, or if you have space between the cabinets and the ceiling, why not put your pans or cake stands on display?
Good luck!
I recommend you contact http://www.storagedeluxe.com/. I have been using them for all my files and paperwork for years and I have never been disappointed with the service. If you try to keep everything in your house in a nice storage bin you will become aggravated quickly because it always tends to get in the way. I suggest you get a storage unit and keep the things you use the least in it. I hope this helps.
