Coming to appreciate the Toshiba 32AV615DB television is easy enough to do once one learns of its reasonable price, for one thing. Of late, this particular Japanese manufacturer of televisions has been seeking to make a mark in the UK market, though it is up against other strong sellers. However, if this TV is an indicator, it’s going to do quite well in making a name for itself, especially with its price and the level of features it offers.

This particular Toshiba is 32 inches in size and is liquid crystal display in character. It delivers a nice quality picture that similarly-priced TVs of this characteristic haven’t yet quite mastered. At present, there are a number of retailers in the UK selling this TV for a little under 400 British pounds, which includes its value added tax. This alone should serve to make it a candidate for likely purchase.

The television itself is not actually what is known as “full high definition, ” meaning that its picture display will be slightly below what full high definition is. This means that it is not 1080p, but rather is a still-nice 1366x768p, which is only a little less — in terms of resolution — then real high definition. No one should worry about this, though, because the picture is still quite nice and remains so with even the most busy of on-screen actions.

This Toshiba also is no heavyweight in terms of it having to be picked up and carried about. At just 12 kg, even little Junior probably won’t have a problem with picking it up and placing it around the flat or apartment or even a medium-sized room. And this is the truth of things; Toshiba probably intends that it end up in those sorts of environments, and not as the sole television for the family. The retail price seems to reflect that fact, as well.

Technologically speaking, Toshiba has packed the TV with a number of features that help it meet its goal of becoming a nicely-selling television. There are three separate HDMI input ports and an S-video port as well as an audio in feature that allows for a home theater system to be hooked up. Additionally, it includes an integrated analog tuner for those not yet into digital television. There is no UK-specific Freesat capability, though, which would allow it to pick up all of those free high definition satellite channels offered in the United Kingdom.

Motion control is accomplished through use of a 50 Hz control engine, and in this television it works quite well to eliminate noticeable judder or artifacts left on the screen after the motion or action has moved on. This is something that many LCD TVs have a problem with, though this Toshiba deals with it quite well.

The television looks good right out of the box, and its minimalist design seems to work well with its intended purpose in a way that many other TVs are not capable of pulling off. It makes use of a very useful on-screen menu system that is both intuitive and easy to manipulate. When it is operating, its standard 720p Blu-Ray content looks very nice, and the display looks pleasing and sharp, especially when one considers the price the television is selling at.

For those purchasers on a limited budget or who are looking for a second television that delivers a lot of features for not a lot of price, the Toshiba 32AV615DB LCD TV is sure to fill the bill quite nicely. It may not offer a few features that one will find in a much more expensive television, but one gets the feeling that it will coexist quite nicely in an apartment or flat, which seems to be the main purpose for this particular TV.
