A Look At Cheech And Chong Called Hey Watch This

Many a mis-spent childhood can be put down to smoking your life away watching Cheech and Chong and other cult classics. Hey Watch This is the reunion of those famous potheads that found their way in to the hearts and minds of lots of people. Anyone who was a fan of their music or their movies will instantly connect with this latest release.

You would be forgiven for thinking that they may have lost their spark in all the years that have passed. You may be forgiven but you’d be wrong because the act is as entertaining now as any of their die hard fans will remember. Tommy Chong broached the subject of them not working together and his conclusion was they just got rich. He goes on to state that you can’t get a rich Mexican to work and that’s why they’ve done nothing together for so long.

What is refreshing is the performance by Shelby, Tommy’s wife who was co-star in the films. She takes the stage in San Antonio where the video was filmed and plays does a great warm up for the men. She could easily have had a solo career on the stage herself had she wanted it.

It’s not wonder she has an affinity with all things funny because you only have to see her Tommy Chong on stage to picture their home life. A sane person would be unlikely to marry such a wild card but if they did then they would have to have a crazy sense of humour.

Without going in to detail, Tommy’s tales of when he was but in jail for selling bong pipes are definitely not to be missed. He certainly has some interesting views on the legal system and the way in which judges operate. His take on the book of creation from the bible is refreshingly original and can only be put down to years of drug use.

Cheech we all know a little better these days as he has had much success working in many Hollywood blockbusters over the years. He is a very funny man on stage and just like Tommy, he has his own brand of comedy style. In this performance he plays through some of his old routines to huge applause and demonstrations of appreciation from the audience.

They are both very entertaining but they are surely at their best when they are together in front of the fans. It’s tragic that they have not done more together as the public have been missing out. Let’s hope they carry on with this and maybe take it to more cities outside of Texas. They would easily fill similarly huge venues everywhere with their rare appeal.

There can be little doubt that both parties are very gifted comedians and are privilege to a special connection with their fans. A rapport like that is hard to replicate in any field and one that lasts as long is a treasure to behold. Hey Watch This is not original buy any stretch of the imagination but it’s timeless. There are smokers everywhere that will be grateful for this release.
