The human eye sees more then even the best digital camera. Taking two exposures gives you the chance to blend them together in Photoshop as digital expert Gavin Hoey www.gavtrain.com demonstrates with this picture taken at the famous roman baths at bath..

@telly0050 Alkaline: 300 shots, Lithium (AA non rechargeable): 700 shots, NiMH: 500 shots. I recommend Low Discharged NiMH, several brands make them like Sanyo (Eneloop), Panasonic, Sony, etc.. Testings based on CIPA standards (google for more information). If you are using the EVF instead, you will be able to take more photo’s than posted numbers above. Temperature will also affect shots per charge (colder climate, less shots). Hope this helps.
great review guys!
im planning to buy this, and since i see you guys are kind enough to answer every comment, so here i would like to ask a simple question:
how long can the battery last with 4 regular batteries?
how bout using only the big LCD / using only the view finder?
thx~
@MrPublicrelation The S1800 beats the Nikon L110 in features include HD video, Having and Electronic Viewfinder in addtion to the LCD scree, and Zoom range (18x vs 15x on the Nikon). Image quality should be similar however you will find the auto white balance very good on the Fuji cameras.
what camera better? Nikon L110 and Fuji s1800 ????
Thanks
@Crawlerz2468 Fuji electronics and know how to produce excellent colour. Camera does look physically very similar.
@IMLYINGISWEAR No. This model does not offer manual focus
@IMLYINGISWEAR No. This model does not offer manual focsu
does it have manual focus?
I am seriously considering buying (have an aging Fuji s2000 w/only 3MP) – I really cannot see how it’s different from GE x5 pro (other then little zoom difference, neglegebale) – but reviews of this Fuji seem to be better
@fujiguys
ok.. t.y
@AMPH1L Looks real to me. It looks like an adapter tube that is attached to the end of the S1800. It is then fixed using a screw that is turned enough to create pressure to hold the adapter in place. On the adapter looks like a thread at which you can now use to attach lens adapters like wide-angle/telephote and other commerically available filters.
is this real? watch?v=tzebg4rWM24&feature=related
ok. thanks for answering all my q. ^_^
@AMPH1L Yes, this older model does have a lens thread. For future models, i’ll push Tokyo for lens thread on all “S” series model.
i saw a fujifilm S5700 that have a uv filter
img834 dot imageshack dot us/img834/8438/fujis57004.jpg
@AMPH1L Unable to look at image. There is no lens thread on the S1800 to attach hoods/lens adapter. Unless the product is connected vai the Tripod mount at the bottom and hangs over the lens, the product you list would not work.
@AMPH1L Yes, only differences is the mini HDMI port on the S2500. I personally would buy the one i can get the best deal on.
hey can i attach a hood/adaptor on the s1800? like this. img834.imageshack.us/img834/8438/fujis57004.jpg
next month i will buy this camera. for the price. this camera is insane.. ^_^
now the question is. what model will you recomend? this s1800 or the s2500? the only difference in s1800 and s2500 is the hdmi port right?
sadly it doesnt have a barel for convertion lenses. (T_T)
this is my new acount. amphil16 here.
@fujiguys There is no lens thread to attach add-on lens accessories.
@AmphiL16 S2500 has a mini HDMI port built-in. S1800 does not.
ah. ok? thanks for the reply fuji guys.. what is the differece of s1800 and the s2500?
can i attatch conversion lense with the s1800? im planning to buy s1800 or s2500 ang a raynox 250 macro lens.
@limpampoo Decision for AA batteries was due to customers feedback. As a travel camera, AA are very beneficial. Cost of Rechargeable AA are much for economical than lithium. Also, 2 years from now, you may not even be able to buy that particular battery anymore. Eneloops (Low Discharge AA’s) do a great job and probably will yield more shots per charge.
great tutorial ;D

okay i got it to work. thanks for the video. i just don’t know how to use photoshop very well and it’s hard for me to follow quick clicks in photoshop because i’m unfamiliar with the tools and where to find them. i’m so glad i finally learned how to this – i can’t wait to photograph some landscapes now. thanks again for the vid.
great video – but why don’t you bother with how to select add layer mask (and those very important couple of clicks afterwards) – I can’t get your tutorial to work because I don’t know what to select.
i’ve learned so much from you sir!!! You are a very inspiring person.
