This video shows the steps for installing a GGS brand LCD screen protector for digital cameras. My camera is a Canon 50D. It’s a glass cover designed to keep your LCD screen free from scratches. You’ll also see a before/after comparison on the Canon 50D. The video (and some audio) was shot using a Canon Digital Rebel T1i (500D). The poor-sounding audio was dubbed from a low quality PC mic (sorry!) Check www.nodnarb.net for the full review.

@nodnarb501 ok thanks for the answer I’ll get one for the d7000
@Spaeckli It’s supposed to be easily removable with a flat piece of plastic, like a credit card. I’ve never had to remove mine, though.
can oyu remove that thing if it’s scratched?
i own a nikon and am not sure if i should get these plastic screen protectors or such glass one
invisibleshield
nice place you got there bro
I’ve had one of these on my 50d since the second I took it out of the box, and it’s been great. It’s taken some knocks but is still in perfect condition. I looks good, and it cleans really easily, I couldn’t recommend one enough. I got mine for about £8 on ebay
if got the same but for my 1000d, they are very god
Thank you so much for the video; I received my screen protector a couple of days ago with every detail of the instructions in CHINESE. Images are subject to your imagination. So, thanks for the thorough demonstration.
@schmagoogly It’s a thin layer of glass, so maybe a millimeter or two. You won’t notice the difference.
@siliconsurf Search Google for Hoodman Loupe. I have one and it works great. You can get it just about anywhere…Amazon, BHPhotoVideo, etc.
anybody know where i can get a lcd thing for viewing it outside when it’s really bright?
Is the screen protector flushed with the body of the camera or does it protrude a little bit?
Nice vid for who didnt know how it works. Thx Sir
I just bought one of these for my new Canon 50D after watching this video thinking it would be easy to put on. Well it’s not as easy as it looked in the video, but after 5 attempts, I finally got it set on straight.
It’s really hard to tell if the protector is aligned with the LCD display because both are black when you go to put it on, even when you have an image showing on LCD.
I’m am pleased with it’s look now that’s it on and hope it does the job if I ever have an accident with my camera
@drseang : I haven’t had to remove mine yet, so I can’t tell you for sure. The instructions say to use a non-sharp thin material (a credit card, for instance) to pry the protector from the LCD. It doesn’t seem like removing it would be too difficult.
how easy and simple is it to remove the cover? i’m worried that the adhesive may damage the original lcd
@jovianksc :
1) I haven’t tried to remove my screen protector yet, so I can’t tell you for sure. The directions say to use something thin, such as a credit card, to separate it along the edges. I’ve had it on almost a year now and it’s remained relatively scratch free. It has done it’s job well. 2) I chose it because I’m more concerned about damage to the LCD from impact than small scratches from normal use. I don’t think the clear plastic ones would protect from any sort of impact.
two questions:
1. how easy is it to remove the screen protector? cause i assume at some point the protector is going to be scratched and you would want to replace that?
2. why would you choose GGS protector over the flexible plastic ones sold on ebay?
Bought one for my Nikon since I’m accident prone.., got mine on ebay for $4.95
This is great review..just ordered one for my Xsi
“Genuine!!!”
LOL….
Just ordered one based on your review thanks a bunch!
I put on my 50D LCD SCREEN PROTECTOR 2pcs. for main and status LCD.I bought them at samy`s camera here in L.A for $12.00 and thanks God that I did because I scratched the main screen with the screen protector on.
