Question by Gumby22: What digital camera brands do you think are worth the money?
I’m looking to buy a digital camera, and quite honestly I have no idea what brand is superior. I do not need something professional. I just want something decently cheap, that takes great quality pictures, has basic video, and lasts a long time. If yoiu have any suggestions, please post them. It would be greatly appreciated.

Nikon just came out with a camera that projects images and videos up to 40 inches! http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-S1000pj-Projector-Wide-Angle-Vibration/dp/B002KANWQ2/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1293567896&sr=8-16

Pentax, Sony Cybershot
The Cybershot is incredibly easy to use and understand, yet packed with features. It is a very good value for the cost, which is inexpensive considering Sony is one of the better-known brands of electronics.
Just avoid brands that you aren’t familiar with. We’ve all heard of sony, pentax, panasonic, fuji, canon, nikon, olympus. But if it’s a brand you’e never heard of, unless you’re looking for something cheap for a kid, skip it. Stick with known, respected brands for a quality camera. And most salespeople can answer questions from a novice so ask them anything you need to know.
Canon Rebel T1i is great for beginners and has many features for advanced photographers. Also shoots movies and has 15.1 megapixels.
i think Canon is the best
Canon and Nikon are the best. I personally own a Nikon Coolpix x70, it’s a touch screen camera and its a 12.1 mega-pixels which is great for photos to come out clear if you like to stretch or crop them out. It’s a little pricey around $ 300 but another camera that’s good too and cheaper is Nikon Coolpix S4000, it goes around $ 180. It records in HD and the photos come out clear and focused as well.
